Addison Buildings

Addison Buildings started trading in 1964. Addison Buildings originally started as house builders with many houses in Kempston (Bedford) being built by the Smith family.

The business moved premises a couple of times but remained in Kempston.  The business changed due to a family injury, from constructing houses, to supplying building materials and garden buildings to the general public. During the late 1990's Addison’s expanded their range to incorporate PVCu double glazed conservatories and windows.

Ousebank and the Merger

Ousebank started trading in 1994 from a small home office supplying and fitting VEKA double glazed windows, doors and conservatories.

As the business expanded the decision was taken to move the business to a small commercial unit in Kempston (2004). During the time short time in Kempston (Singer Way), Addison Buildings approached Ousebank with talks of a merger. It was decided that Ousebank would take over Addison Buildings and honour Guarantees for customer's who had had conservatories and double glazing installed by Addison’s.

The garden building sales and agency would also continue but relocation was a must and urgent. The site near Sainsbury’s was then subsequently sold off (in 2005) for development and flats were built in its place.

Addison Buildings and Ousebank merged soon after and in October 2005 relocated for the second time, from the Kempston site to a rural location in Oakley (just north of Bedford). The premises in Oakley required substantial modification with new offices, display areas and the removal of numerous portacabins.

We are proud to say that both Addison and Ousebank have been in continued business since both companies started up (1964 & 1994), throughout the good and bad economic times.  As we have honored all guaranteed work, we have subsequently gained more and more recommendations through the success of our reputation.

If you have not have heard of us as before, most of our work is gained though 'word of mouth' and through the internet (no hard copy advertisting is done) therefore passing the benefits and savings back to you, the customer.

• Bedfordshire Trading Standards Approved since 2002 - 2015 (whilst the scheme was running).
